The conclusions of the study were primarily based on the date collected from a sample of 76 people in committed dating relationships and a hierarchical regression analysis was conducted as a method of analysis. One of the basic conclusions of the study, as the abstract maintains, has been that love, trust, satisfaction, dedication commitment, and social-network influences can be associated with alternative monitoring, whereas the personality characteristics of the individuals cannot be. Similarly, the study also revealed various important predictors of alternative monitoring in the context of relationship satisfaction, social network influence, perceptions of partner’s conscientiousness, and gender.
The article deals with a highly interesting topic as it analyzes the significant predictors of alternative monitoring, otherwise called the tendency of a person to be ‘attracted to other potential partners’.
